chris mello's thoughts on innovation

Innovation, to me, involves three major concepts.  First, innovation is creativity.  The world of health and fitness is so amazing, and has unlimited potential for creativity. This is paramount when creating unique programs to the ever changing needs of my clients. Sometimes creativity is most useful when it comes as ‘co-creation’; evolving together.  It is un-creative to take the easy way out and follow the crowd; to do what everyone else is doing, or just picking up a trendy fitness magazine, or mimicking someone else’s workout. When you can create something of your own and share it, you are passing along the ability to be completely empowered.

Second, is being spontaneous and open for anything.  Routine is the enemy, because our bodies are smarter than we think.  When you give your body the same program and the same routine it will not adapt and change will not occur.  But, by opening yourself up for everything that is possible, then you open your potential to get the best results.

Third is to be progressive and always move ahead.  Making a commitment to yourself and being progressive are the keys to changing your life and your physical body. We owe it to ourselves to always move forward and not settle for those thoughts and actions that are easy and comfortable. It is really amazing to me how rapidly you can change your physical body with a constantly progressing attitude and by taking your program to the next level.
