introduction to coach dean
![]() “In my opinion, the greatest thing that we will ever have in our lives is each other” |
The idea of being a coach for another person has been an intriguing and satisfying journey for me. I believe that by setting an example myself, I can create a place of trust in which others can connect and draw valuable personal physical skills which can change their life in a permanent and positive way.
I practice a style of training and coaching that is based on the same kind of care that I would want for myself. I would want someone to focus on my shortcomings and strengths with the same kind of enthusiasm and unconditional acceptance that no one is perfect. I would want someone who uses their professional skill and intuition equally to guide me through the process. And finally, to use a vocabulary which is encouraging and mindful enough to promote positive reinforcement.
It is not likely that an untrained person can acquire the kind of knowledge it takes to gain great results, because so much of this knowledge does not come form a book or a seminar, but rather from experience. I believe in the value of taking the time to get to know each person’s needs and desires, personal obstacles and expectations. It is the relationship that guides results, not wholly the skills or equipment in and of themselves.
